Sonny Landreth called the other day to pick up a Phatman pedal from us. He has a new record out, called "Levee Town," that you should put your ears on if you have any inkling of playing slide guitar. A master of the technique, Sonny's shows are a no-miss. Check him out at "http://www.sugarhillrecords.com" |

Tommy Malone, formerly of the Subdudes, has released a new record called "Soul Heavy." Produced by Jimmy Hormel, this record is jump-starting Tommy's solo career as a singer/songwriter. Tracked in No. California and engineered by Jane Clark (Motown) check out http://tommymalone.net for a taste of some fine finger lickin', New Orleans style R&B, and the tone of our Verbmaster 18! |

There comes a time when an instrument comes along that changes the way you think and play guitar. The Pawar Turn of the Century is one such instrument that deserves to be written about. If you can imagine taking the neck of an ol' National, the body of a Les Paul Jr., and throwing on a pickup system that covers 20 different tones, you will catch my drift! Working in alternate microtunings has never been easier and to add to the incredibly stability of this instrument is a Bigsby that stays in tune! I don't know how they do it, but the TOC is by far one of the most versatile instruments I have played. You can take the instrument down to a dropped b and it will hang with a bari, no problem. The tone is tight and focused and can be fine tuned with their Positive Tone System pickups built by Seymour Duncan. The Sperzel tuners and the tension on the neck make for a well balanced tone that is even and ful throughout the fretboard. The body is made of swamp ash which keeps the weight down for those grueling 3 set gigs and late night trip hop fests. Or those of us who have broken clavicles in the past! Gigging with the Pawar and Superdrive 30 is an example of perfection in motion. This guitar will be featurd in our sound samples CD coming up this fall. Budda gives four tubes up! www.pawarguitars.com
